Compare Texts

This is a side-by-side difference checker for two pieces of text: paste the original on the left and the changed version on the right, and the tool highlights exactly what was added and what was removed — inline, in place, not as a cryptic file-level summary.

The word-versus-character distinction is the useful part. Word level compares whole words, which reads naturally for prose, articles and documentation — you see which words changed without noise from reflowed lines. Character level goes deeper and marks individual characters, which is what you want when comparing identifiers, config values, license keys or a single word whose spelling changed by one letter. Switch between the two modes to answer different questions about the same pair of texts.

Typical uses: checking what an editor actually changed in your copy, verifying contract revisions, comparing two versions of a config file or an email draft, or spotting what differs between a working command and a failing one.

The comparison runs entirely in your browser. Both texts are processed locally and never uploaded, so it is safe for contracts, internal documents and anything confidential. There is no size limit beyond browser memory, and the diff updates as soon as you paste.
