Resize Image(s)

Resizing sounds like the simplest image operation there is, yet doing it badly is remarkably easy: stretch a photo non-uniformly and faces look wrong, upscale a small image and it turns to mush, or post a 6000-pixel camera photo unresized and watch a web page crawl. This tool resizes images by exact pixel dimensions or by percentage, with an option to keep the aspect ratio locked so nothing gets distorted.

The pixel mode is for when you know the target: a 1200 × 630 social share image, a 256-pixel avatar, a product photo that a marketplace demands at exactly 1000 pixels wide. Choose which dimension to drive (width or height) and the other follows automatically when aspect-ratio locking is on. Percentage mode is the quick route — 50% of a 4000-pixel photo gives you a clean 2000-pixel version without doing any math.

Shrinking is the safe direction: downscaling throws pixels away and, done once, looks clean. Enlarging is different — the tool has no new detail to add, so upscaling beyond roughly 130–150% starts to look soft. For best results, always resize from the largest original you have, and resize only once rather than in several steps.

Everything is computed by your browser on your own device; images are never uploaded to a server, and batch files are processed one after another locally. That makes it practical for handling private screenshots, ID photos, or client work without sending them through a third-party service. If your real goal is a smaller file rather than smaller dimensions, use the Compress Image tool instead — resizing and compressing solve different problems.
