Rotate Image

Rotating an image should be a two-second job, and with this tool it is. Pick a preset angle — 90, 180, or 270 degrees — or switch to the custom mode and enter any number of degrees when the correction needed is not a clean quarter-turn. The second case is more common than it sounds: photos taken with the camera slightly tilted, scans fed into the sheet feeder at an angle, or whiteboards and documents photographed at 3 or 4 degrees off, all of which look obviously wrong once you notice the horizon is not level.

The presets handle the everyday mechanical cases: a portrait photo stored sideways needs 90 degrees, an upside-down scan needs 180. Custom degrees handle the finicky fixes — a 2.5-degree nudge can rescue a photo that would otherwise need heavy cropping to hide the tilt. Small rotations leave empty triangular corners at the edges; if you want those gone, crop slightly after rotating.

Rotation is performed by your browser directly on your device, and the file is never uploaded to a server. For one image the result is essentially instant; for a folder of images, the batch processes locally one after another.

A note on quality: rotation here re-encodes the image, so as with any JPEG operation there is a small quality cost — rotate the original once rather than repeatedly re-rotating an exported copy. Also, if a phone photo appears rotated in one app but correct in another, the cause is usually the EXIF orientation tag rather than the pixels; a real rotation through this tool rewrites the pixels themselves, which normalizes how every viewer shows it.
