What is a Text Statistics?
Word count is the tip of what this tool reports. Paste any text and it returns the numbers editors, students and writers actually need: characters (with and without spaces), words, lines and sentences, plus two analyses that reveal more than raw counts — character frequency and word frequency, ranked so you can see what dominates the text at a glance.
The frequency views are unexpectedly useful. Writers use them to catch overused words that reading skips over. Teachers use them for vocabulary exercises. Anyone localizing copy discovers that a favorite connector word appears forty times. If the default word and sentence delimiters do not match your language or format, both are configurable — important for languages that do not separate words with spaces.
Options cover the edge cases: whether empty lines count toward the line total, and which characters define word and sentence boundaries. Everything recalculates as you type or paste, so trimming a text to fit a limit is a matter of watching one number.
The analysis runs entirely in your browser — the text is processed locally and never uploaded, so unpublished drafts, personal writing and confidential documents stay on your machine. There is no length limit beyond browser memory; a full book chapter analyzes in well under a second.
